If you’re looking for Brecon Beacons accommodation for a cheap family break, this cosy 19th Century farmhouse is set in a tranquil position with access to some of the best walking in Wales. The hostel is set in 15 acres of ancient National Park woodland and overlooks the River Tarell. Just step outside and there are breathtaking views towards Pen y Fan – the highest mountain peak in South Wales!
The location offers amazing countryside for an adventurous walking or cycling holiday. In summer, you can take a guided walk or mountain safety course at the nearby Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre. However, you may find it hard to leave this hostel’s roaring fire, welcoming lounge of comfy arm chairs and tasty home-cooked meals.
YHA Brecon Beacons, formerly YHA Llwyn-y-Celyn, has 41 beds in a selection of private and dorm rooms, some of which are en-suite. The hostel features a comfortable lounge with plenty of sofas and arm chairs, great self-catering facilities and a handy drying room for muddy clothes.
Sorry, the hostel is not suitable for children under five, however the hostel is great for older children with lots of room for outdoor play.
There are two of the Large Pod Plus camping pods available to guests at YHA Brecon Beacons. These pods sleep four people with one double futon and two single beds for a comfortable night’s sleep. If you like camping, you’ll love this! These wooden pods are completely protected from the elements and they’re heated. Mattresses, futons and all bedding are included for your comfort. Each pod has its own individual decking area.
Please note that camping is sold per person and not per pitch and so, during the booking process, you will need to select the number of people that you wish to camp.
Try wild camping at YHA Brecon Beacons in our woodland campsite. The area is well suited for smaller tents rather than bigger family sized units. Camping is in the woodland next to the hostel on mixed, fairly rough ground – perfect for those who would like a wild camping experience complete with camp fires but with the added bonus of access to hot showers, running water, hot meals and cold beer.
